Last but not least: The great knitting
A trend from New York and Berlin is taking Switzerland by storm: On September 30, the first Urban Knitting CH Happening will take place in Zurich, Geneva, and Lugano.
For the Urban Knitting CH Happening, numerous passionate knitters from all over Switzerland will be producing colorful works of art made of wool, which will be placed in the city centers of Zurich, Lugano and Geneva on September 30 and provide a splash of color in the grey autumn.
The campaign was initiated by Urban Knitting CH, an association of enthusiastic knitters. A call to join in was made on Facebook - with success: by mid-September, Urban Knitting CH had gained over 500 likes. The knitting kits, which are provided by the organization, are also ordered via Facebook and have caused a huge boom: the knitting kits are selling like hot cakes.
Urban knitting is a kind of graffiti. But instead of spray-painting something, you simply cover objects with knitted items. And unlike graffiti, the works of art can be easily removed. Well then, let's go: Stick it in, bang it around, pull it through and let it down, stick it in, bang it around, pull it through and let it down .... It will be interesting to see the result.
