Reformed regional church needs more money for controversial advertising campaign

With just under a week to go before the end of the Reformed Church’s «Church Lottery,» the prize pool of 30,000 francs has already been won. Now the church plans to spend more money on the controversial promotional campaign.

Within two weeks, 64,000 of the 600,000 scratch cards distributed had already been checked online, as the Reformed Church of Aargau announced on Tuesday. A further 50,000 visitors played on the website. So far, 600 prizes of 50 francs each have been distributed. An evaluation of the website shows that in addition to the game, the church's offers have also been clicked on over 150,000 times. However, the campaign was received differently.

Of the approximately 1,200 people who contacted the hotline, there was both criticism and enthusiasm for the campaign. The comments ranged from "the church is acting like a cheap Jacob" to "it's great that the church is doing something different". (SDA)
