Media Prize Aargau/Solothurn 2011: Entry deadline is now open
The 14th Aargau/Solothurn Media Award is now open for submissions in the categories of print, radio, TV, and photography. The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2011.
The AG/SO Media Prize aims to recognize and promote outstanding regional journalism in the cantons of Aargau and Solothurn, as detailed in a press release issued on Monday. To this end, an annual prize of CHF 12,000 is awarded to winners in the categories of print, radio, TV and photography.
Eligible are press articles, TV and radio reports as well as photos that deal with content from the cantons of Aargau and Solothurn and have appeared in media that have a location in these cantons. All entries will be judged by expert juries. The jury president is the journalist and long-time director of Swiss Television, Peter Schellenberg. All entries accepted for submission must have been published or broadcast between January 1 and December 31, 2011.
The date of the 2011 Aargau/Solothurn Media Award ceremony has already been set for April 30, 2012 at the Olten Municipal Theatre. The awarding of this media prize is made possible by the sponsorship of the regional and local media companies, namely Aargauer Zeitung, Kanal K, Oltner Tagblatt, Radio Argovia, Radio 32, Solothurner Zeitung, SRG AG/SO, Tele M1, Zofinger Tagblatt and the cantons of Aargau and Solothurn. The President of the Aargau/Solothurn Media Prize Association is Thomas Müller, CEO of Dietschi AG and publisher of the Oltner Tagblatt, Olten.
