Stefano Pianca becomes managing editor of 20 minuti
On September 14, 2011, 20 minuti will be published for the first time. The 12-member editorial team has moved into its offices at Via Vergiò 8 in Breganzona, near Lugano, and is working on the newspaper’s launch.
Stefano Pianca took over the editorial management of the commuter newspaper in mid-August. The Ticino native was previously head of the Lugano section at La Regione Ticino. He joined the editorial team of the daily newspaper in 2003 before becoming head of department in 2009.
In the online sector, 20 minuti has entered into a partnership with the already well-established news platform Tio.ch, which is operated by TicinOnline. The editorial team, which works in the same premises in Breganzona, is in regular contact with the print editorial team. The content is thus prepared in an ideal form for the newspaper and online. In this way, both media benefit from an expansion of their reporting. The editor-in-chief of the news portal, Salvatore Feo, is responsible for coordination. He joined Tio.ch back in 2000 and took over its management in 2007. Tio.ch can now also be reached at 20minuti.ch. The visual appearance has been slightly adapted accordingly and the 20 minuti logo has been integrated.
Rocco Salvioni is responsible for the regional marketing of 20 minuti as Sales Manager and Managing Director of 20 minuti Ticino. National sales for the 20 minuti newspaper and the national advertising combination of Tio.ch, 20minuten.ch and 20minutes.ch will be handled by 20 Minuten AG. Tio.ch customers will continue to be looked after by the Managing Director of TicinOnline, Gianni Giorgetti, and his team.
