Switch Junior Web Award 2011: Swiss school classes shine on the web

At the Junior Web Award on Tuesday, Switch honored 13 Swiss school classes for their web projects. The main winner of the award ceremony at the Trafo Baden was a vocational school class from Porrentury with the project "Fat-Food".

According to a statement, the big winner of this year's Junior Web Award of the Switch Foundation is "Fat-Food"An informative and professionally implemented website of the class of the Ecole des Métiers Techniques from Porrentruy (JU) about nutrition and fast food. The French-language project won at today's award ceremony in the culture and congress center Trafo Baden, in addition to the 1st prize in the category Sek II, the programming prize and the jury prize. But the student websites were also convincing in other respects with their content and creative implementation.

In the fifth Junior Web Award, over 200 school classes from all over Switzerland submitted projects. A public vote from March 22 to April 5 awarded the audience prize. Given the high quality of the projects, the jury then had a hard time deciding on the 1st to 3rd prizes in the elementary school, Sek I and Sek II categories - as did the sponsors Swisscom and Google for the winning classes in "Usability" and "Programming".
