"SF Meteo": Daniela Schmuki to succeed Cécile Bähler
The Meteo editorial team has decided on Cécile Bähler's successor. When Cécile Bähler leaves "SF Meteo" in the fall of 2011 due to maternity leave, meteorologist Daniela Schmuki will take over her presenting duties.
Daniela Schmuki was already working as a presenter on the roof during Sandra Boner's two extended absences due to pregnancy and has now offered to take over Cécile Bähler's vacant position completely, as was reported in a press release on Wednesday.
Thomas Bucheli, Editorial Director of Meteo, is very happy about this solution: "Daniela Schmuki has put her heart and soul into the presenting role with great commitment and has already established herself very well on the station and with the audience. She was also Cécile Bähler's specialist supervisor. It is therefore obvious that we have chosen Daniela as her successor."
This internal appointment also makes economic sense, it continues. As a meteorologist, Schmuki does not require specialist support; the editorial team will thus gain additional meteorologist capacity that can be deployed elsewhere. With the departure of Cécile Bähler, no new position will therefore be advertised.
