Star TV repositions broadcasts

Star TV is repositioning its program «New in Theaters.» While the focus has previously been on information about upcoming movies, the network will now place greater emphasis on events and on-the-scene reports.

"In the future, the majority of the cinema program will be produced outside of Star TV. This means we are closer to the audience and can use our studios for new projects," Paul Grau, CEO and owner of Star TV, is quoted as saying in a statement. Thus, within the weekly cinema broadcast, new sections are created such as "Lara + Dave", which in the initial scene together with Pät Schreiber thematize the hottest cinema films.

Swiss Made" is also being repositioned. In the future, domestic feature film productions will be accompanied here from the first day of shooting to the theatrical premiere. "What has been missing for local filmmaking to date is professional coverage for their films. For this reason, we want to give Swiss film even more space on Star TV in the future," Grau continues.

Film journalists Wolfram Knorr and Alex Oberholzer, with their "Movie Talk," will also increasingly cultivate direct contact with the cinema scene in the future. As a result, Star TV's reportage teams will increasingly produce in the scene with the camera and moderation teams on location. In addition, the movie preview "Trailer Cinema Highlights" and the sections "Report" and "First Look" will continue to round out Star TV's movie program.
