Balance ranking of social media appearances
For the first time, Bilanz has presented a ranking of the strongest Swiss brands in social media. Swisscom ranks first, followed by Swiss and TAG Heuer.
According to the Bilanz ranking, Swisscom's professional understanding of the world of Facebook, Twitter and co. made it the winner of the first social media ranking for the top 50 Swiss brands. The brand is very strong in dialog, responds quickly, offers extensive promotional material and has a support community on Facebook. Swisscom really understands social media, say Robert Letsch and Nijan Ouliaei from the Zurich agency M&M Interactive Media, which compiled the ranking for Bilanz.
All of the top 50 Swiss brands have an active social media presence. They use several channels - for good reasons, says Grit Mareike Ahlers, who will be speaking at the Swiss Brand Congress on May 26 on the topic of "How social media strengthens the brand compared to traditional marketing communication". Ahlers, managing partner of the Zurich-based marketing consultancy Bruhn & Partner, sees two main effects of social media: "They strengthen brand image and awareness. Social media such as Facebook, communities and blogs build proximity to the consumer, making them a participant, which also influences their purchasing decisions." If you want to turn customers into fans, there is no way around these tools, which were recently ridiculed, continues Ahlers. If brand owners want customers to develop a kind of love affair with the brand, social media is the right place for this.
For the ranking, Bilanz, in collaboration with the M&M Media Group, examined the 50 most important Swiss brands in the relevant social media channels.
