Catholic Media Award 2011 for SF-Dok and RSR series

This year, the Catholic Media Award goes to two electronic media productions. The Swiss Bishops' Commission for Communication and Media has honored a documentary series by Swiss Television and a children's program in French-speaking Switzerland.

On the one hand, the award was presented to the seven-part Swiss television documentary series "Kriminalfälle. The 7 Deadly Sins" under the editorship of Helen Stehli Pfister for its very successful examination of the various facets of evil. This was announced by the Swiss Bishops' Conference. According to SDA, the independent jury of the media prize particularly highlighted the article "Wollust unter der Soutane" by Michael Hegglin. This article addressed the scandalous sexual abuse of minors by priests in an exemplary and helpful manner.

The jury also honored the children's program entitled "Les Zèbres" by Radio Suisse Romande. This program has been broadcast for ten years. Hosted by Jean-Marc Richard, the program addresses children's questions about God and the world on a daily basis. According to the jury, Joël Cruchard answers them in a child-friendly way.

The Catholic Media Prize is endowed with CHF 4,000 and will be divided equally between the two winners this year. The public award ceremony will take place on May 24 in Fribourg.
