Wunderman: Microsoft keeps the engines running hot across Europe
Wunderman Zurich launched a Europe-wide competition designed to boost software sales among Microsoft partners in the short term. «The Race» was created to encourage the numerous distributors to sell as many Windows 7 and Office 2010 licenses as possible.
The competition was based on a website on which "The Race" can be played. Similar to a racing driver's cockpit, the licenses sold by the participating teams, the remaining "laps" and the rankings of the other distributors appeared there. Whoever reached their sales target the fastest was guaranteed a place in a real cockpit. The prize for 70 partners was an adrenaline-filled weekend at the "Mallorca RennArena", where they were allowed to drive laps in real Formula BMW racing cars.
To draw the attention of Microsoft partners to the competition, real Carrera racetracks and posters were sent out in advance, the agency said in a press release. A regular newsletter was sent to all partners to ensure that participants remained motivated and to provide valuable tips on how to improve their position.
In good racing style, all distributors received branded champagne as a thank you for taking part. The Race" was implemented in 11 different languages for the Western Europe region. Allaccess was responsible for organizing the event in Mallorca.
