Last but not least: The forest, the xylophone and the cell phone

An idyllic forest, a clear stream, a leaping deer - and a very, very long wooden xylophone from which a wooden ball elicits a classical melody.

No, dear readers, this is not an advertisement for an Ayurvedic wellness program or an instrument manufacturer. Nor is it for an environmental organization dedicated to saving the forest. Instead, it is an advertisement for a Japanese cell phone manufacturer promoting its latest device equipped with a wooden casing. What exactly the movie is trying to tell us is not clear and leaves room for speculation: Do you go into the forest more often instead of exposing yourself to dangerous cell phone radiation? Reaching a friend with your new cell phone can take as long as the ball bounces over the xylophone? Was the tree that had to give its life for your new cell phone standing in such a beautiful forest? Or is the message perhaps not so profound, but quite simple: wooden ball touches wooden xylophone, non-wooden hand touches wooden phone? Either way, one thing is certain: the commercial is very beautiful, very long and so calming that it almost has a meditative effect.
