Euro RSCG Zurich: Performance designed for Kulturhaus am See

The Kulturhaus am See association wants to transform the Kongresshaus and Tonhalle building complex into a house for people interested in culture. It is receiving communications support from Euro RSCG Zurich. The agency has designed a logo with the help of Google Earth.

With the recent discussions in the Zurich City Council to build a large congress center for Zurich at a new location, plans for the new use of the current Kongresshaus also started. According to a group of creative artists, including Pepe Lienhard, Andreas Vollenweider, Nadja Schildknecht, the Kongresshaus, together with the Tonhalle, should be converted into a large cultural center - and given a new look.

Euro RSCG Zurich was commissioned with the development of this appearance - including the logo. While researching on Google Earth, the creative team of the advertising agency found out that the height of the façade of the congress center corresponds exactly to the width of the road to Lake Zurich. They transferred these real distances, angles and proportions into the new logo.

The variation in the typeface and the perspective arrangement of the words has resulted in a typographic logo that has a spatial effect: the words "Kultur" and "Haus" reflect the building of today's Kongresshaus, the word "am" the street, and the word "See" Lake Zurich, which spreads out in front of the listed building.

Based on this logo, Euro RSCG Zurich has developed letterheads, business cards, brochures and a website using the same geodata from Google Earth. These are in use as of now.
