Audience Council: Varied, but too long "Swiss Award" Gala

The Audience Council attributes social significance, glitz, and glamour to the «Swiss Award.» It describes various elements of the program as varied and entertaining. Overall, however, the program is considered too long.

With the "Swiss Award" gala, Swiss radio and television SRF succeeded in staging a socially significant award ceremony for outstanding achievements by Swiss personalities, according to the audience council. The gala had glitz and glamour, which was appropriate for the significance of the awards, it said in a statement.

Most of the audience members found the drawing of the million-dollar tickets to be a disturbing foreign body. This dryly staged element was inappropriate and unworthy of a gala. Several council members missed explanations about the nomination and election process as well as the jury and Academy in the broadcast. Such information would have increased the transparency and credibility of the event.

Overall, the Audience Council sees great entertainment potential in "SwissAwards. However, taken as a whole, this did not come to bear enough. At two and a half hours, the show was stretched out too much.

The presenters Sandra Studer and Sven Epiney received much praise. In the eyes of the audience council, Sandra Studer led through the gala in a stylish, competent and likeable manner. She mastered the contemplative as well as the joyful moments in a sovereign and natural way. Sven Epiney pleased the council members with his mischievousness, spontaneity and cordiality. He succeeded well in getting the millionaire candidates, who were unaccustomed to television, to talk.
