Evoq: An Epiphany cake for the best Christmas card
As in previous years, the Evoq agency presented awards for the best Christmas and New Year’s mailings on Epiphany. The winner in the main category, «Best Idea and Communication,» was SBB with its «Guardian Angel» card. Recipients of the SBB Christmas card will be rewarded with the Evoq Epiphany Cake.
Well over a hundred cards landed in Evoq's mailbox again in 2010, the agency writes in a statement. All incoming mail was judged by the strict jury according to communication, creation, and wit, and combined in a shortlist. SBB was able to convince the jury best with the card "Guardian Angel". "Schutzengel" - writes the SBB - is not only an S-Bahn station with that name near Zug. The motif also symbolizes the safety and reliability that customers enjoy when they travel with SBB or entrust goods to it.
New this year, in addition to the main category "Best Idea and Communication", the special categories "Top Design" and "Weirdest Card" were awarded.
In the "Top Design" category, the Hofstetter family won a private mail order company from Bern. The card, produced in a limited edition as a screen print, shows a motif inspired by a trip to Mexico and designed by the family themselves. In the "Weirdest Card" category, the winner was the dispatch from designer Marcel Seeliger. The recipients were allowed to scratch out the Christmas greeting themselves using the Letraset sheets that have become superfluous in the computer age and were enclosed with the mailing. The winners of the two special categories were rewarded with an Evoq-Tirggel.
