A bold look into the future
APG Gives Lucerne Graphic Design Students a Taste of the Poster World
APG lets Lucerne graphics students get a taste of the poster airSo much is certain: the country is getting new graphic artists. Since 1997, the nation's outdoor advertiser has invited graduates of the 2nd graphic design class at the Lucerne School of Art and Design (HGKL) to formulate and implement their thoughts, wishes and expectations for the turn of the year; a suitable platform for keeping the common goal high: high-quality posters. After all, Swiss posters should continue to be recognized for their high artistic status in the future.
"The young talent at the HGKL has it in their hands to maintain and develop the good quality of our 'Gallery of the Street'," said APG Director Bruno Niederberger at the vernissage on January 4 in front of the Lucerne Culture and Convention Center, where the ten posters selected by the jury will be on display until January 26.
Scientific advances such as the manipulation of stem cells were implemented in a visionary way. But virtual worlds, violence and resistance to ruthlessness also shaped the works created under the project management of HGKL lecturer Paul Brühwiler.
