With Net-Audit, website operators install a program on their servers that measures the number of visitors. With this, Wemf wanted to provide reliable figures for the advertising industry. In the first attempt, however, the offer failed due to too few participants. In an interview with WerbeWoche, Wemf marketing manager Gabriela Eggstein attributed the low participation primarily to technical difficulties. Beta tests with improved software are now to start in April. According to Netzticker, Eggstein hopes that Wemf will be able to report traffic figures from 15 media platforms, as well as portals and other websites, in late summer. The goal, however, is to increase to 20 to 30 websites. At the end of 2000, only the NZZ and Pro 7 had their page impressions and visits certified by Wemf.
