Ringier Magazines receives reinforcement
Ringier's Magazines Division is being strengthened by the creation of the new Directorate Magazines German-speaking Switzerland. The position will be held by Silvia Lepiarczyk, who has headed Ringier Publishing in the Czech Republic since 1998 and has also been responsible for the printing plant in Ostrava and Ringier Publishing in Slovakia since July 2000. Her success in these activities is one reason for her election. Ringier spokesman Fridolin Luchsinger cites another: "Ms. Lepiarczyk gained experience during nine years at Bertelsmann, a very innovative and successful publishing house in the magazine sector."
The fact that the creation of the new Magazines German-speaking Switzerland division was necessary at all has to do with Martin Kall's workload. "As head of Ringier Europe and the Magazines division, Kall was pretty well served in terms of work and was looking for relief," explains the Ringier spokesperson. "But the creation of the new directorate also makes sense in Ringier's corporate structure: in addition to the Magazines Directorate for Western Switzerland, there is now also a Magazines Directorate for German-speaking Switzerland at the same level," adds Luchsinger.
The 37-year-old Lepiarczyk will take up her new position during the second quarter. As an interim solution, she will continue to be responsible for Ringier Slovakia for the time being. (dse)
