Leading Events of the World magazine aims to combine exclusive events with well-known brandsA new glossy magazine is emerging on the market, bucking all trends. Leading Events of the World is a registered trademark for sporting and cultural highlights in the international events calendar. At the same time, the award is the headline and program for a new glossy magazine. The glossy magazine series Leading Events of the World presents attractions, landscapes, people and lifestyle around the Leading Events with its background reports. "A work of art as an excellent platform for the highest form of event communication and branding," is how Christof Küng describes his project. With his luxury magazines, the Editorial and Creative Director and founder and owner of Corporate Identity by Küng AG in St.Gallen wants to offer a new marketing platform that connects the world's leading brands with the world's leading events.
"Only a few advertisers buy the exclusive right to be directly associated with such an event," he explains his prestigious offer. The idea has already been realized at the White Turf in St. Moritz and the Bank Hofmann Polo Open in Zurich. Other events under consideration include the Weltklasse Zürich athletics meeting, the festival on the lake stage in Bregenz, the Lucerne Festival, the 24-hour car race at Le Mans, the Ascot horse races, Wimbledon and the US Golf Masters.
The idea arose from a mandate in which Corporate Identity Küng was asked to evaluate, test and list the best events worldwide for potential sponsorship. The corporate identity consultancy, which also has extensive experience in the areas of event organization, marketing, sponsorship and support, decided to set up a new publishing organization within the group in order to address the topic of Leading Events of the World professionally and intensively.
Adolf Ogi also takes to the keyboard for horses
The first magazines, which were published in limited and numbered editions, reached 30,000 copies each. They were distributed to selected readers of the publisher, organizer, sponsors and advertisers. The luxury magazine is also distributed in selected hotels. Swissair distributes the luxury print products to its First Class passengers on overseas flights and Crossair on its European flights in Business Class. Also under discussion are the Zurich Bahnhofstrasse Association, the Swiss Tourism Office, golf courses throughout Switzerland and selected restaurants and bars.
The current issue for White Turf St. Moritz (3, 10 and 17 February) comprises 80 pages and boasts a foreword by former Federal Councillor Adolf Ogi, background stories on equestrian sport, racing programs, portraits of the VIPs involved, fashion reports and "Horse Stories from 1001 Nights". Advertisers include brands such as Badrutt's Palace Hotel, BMW, CS, Swisscom, Crossair, American Express, Mauritius Tourism and Les Ambassadeurs.
