Which Swiss films are your favorites at Cannes?
What are your Swiss favorites in Cannes? Matthias Freuler: Helvetic Tours could have a chance, possibly Randstat and the spot "Together against violence". how will the Swiss perform?
Freuler: I expect about eight shortlist nominations. It's one of those things with the Lions: anything over three would be great, anything under three would be sad.
What do you think of the inclusion of the new Direct Marketing category in the competition?
Freuler: When the Cannes organizer Hatchuel comes up with something new, it's always and only to do with profiteering. In the best case scenario, the rest of us also benefit, but that's not necessarily the case with the new category.
What does your program in Cannes look like?
Freuler: Only people who have never attended the festival think that you spend the whole day hanging out on the beach. The fact is that what is on offer for 12 hours a day in the dark movie theater is so interesting that the festival could also be held in Vladivostok.
