By Beat FritschExtra-cantonal media have it a little harder in Zurich with its millions - or "If the mountain doesn't come to the prophet, the prophet comes to the mountain". At least that's the view of Südostschweiz and Publicitas Chur, which is responsible for its marketing. Year after year, the "P" staff, together with all those responsible for the regional newspapers grouped together in the Südostschweiz (SO) headline newspaper, make a pilgrimage to Zurich for the big customer party. To ensure that the local color was not completely lost, the "Wine Loft" of the most sought-after Grisons culinary export Beat Caduff was chosen as the venue this year.
This year's Südostschweiz-Sause was also marked by the farewell of long-time SO advertising manager and "P" deputy director Georg Binkert. For the "third half of his life", said the lively man from Graubünden, he wanted to do something completely different again. He is starting his own aid project in the small West African country of The Gambia, around 1500 kilometers south of the Canary Islands. Instead of voucher copies, Binkert will now be distributing mosquito nets - malaria is the main cause of death among children in his new home country. Incidentally, Lillia Della Piana from Koller Della Piana Consulting, Reto Kreis from Suzuki Automobile and Susanne Schelling from Publimedia will soon be able to get an idea of his new field of activity. They each won two weeks' vacation on the west coast of Africa with Binkert as their guide in a "farewell prize draw". We can only say "Chapeau" - and wish Georg all the best and good luck for the future!
While the Südostschweiz was enjoying a solid meal, the Brockenhaus and Facts were having a fun time. The Facts Bingo Night is a sure bet with the highest entertainment factor in Zurich's event jungle. Comedian and bingo game master Beat Schlatter and his troupe ensured that there was not a dry eye in the house with their original prizes.
The shortlist author also came under fire in the process. The fact that we were still gloating in this column on the occasion of the last bingo night about seeing a filius of the famous PR entrepreneur Stöhlker being paraded by a dominatrix in a pass after various false bingo announcements has now turned into a boomerang: instead of the guest role on "Lüthi & Blanc" that we had been aiming for for some time, which was also included in the prize pot, our writer was invited on stage as the winner of the fifth round for a reunion with porn starlet Sandy Sanders. Where the lightly clad lady took a seat on his lap coram publico to warble a Czech song into his ear - the absolute highlight of the evening for many. Our much-tested man for the rough and tumble also survived this endurance test unscathed.
The copies of Weltwoche distributed to the players escaped less unscathed. Schlatter's instructions were to tear the print product into pieces of paper to cover the bingo hits - to show everyone where the competition was and how to deal with it.
Finally, a brief correction to the last shortlist: Andreas Meili is still Head of Electronic Media at Tamedia - and Irene Ackermann is not his successor, but his charming assistant.

had a great time at the big Facts Bingo night. Among other things, the lady pictured - announced by the game master as a famous sex star - was the main prize of the fifth round of the game: whoever has the porn starlet no longer has to worry about the mockery.
