Goodbye yellow gaze

Tabloids: Starting May 12, *Blick* will be published with a new layout. This may be the most comprehensive revamp of the Ringier tabloid to date, as Markus Rohr from the editorial board explains.

From May 12, Blick will appear in a new layout. This is possibly the most comprehensive renovation of the Ringier tabloid, as Markus Rohr from the editorial team explains, and there are said to have been no taboos. Newspaper designer Kurt Schwerzmann has revised the logo and even banned the bright yellow from posters and kiosk displays. A large poster designed by the agency GGK Zurich will be displayed in Zurich's train station concourse from 3 May, giving a foretaste of the new Blick look: instead of the garish yellow, the basic color is a soft light blue, the logo is in the previous red, but with smaller lettering. The same applies to the kiosk displays: in future they will appear in blue, olive, pink and light yellow - now also in A3 format. These colors (with the exception of light yellow) will also be used on the inside of the paper, at the expense of red and black. The pastel shades are also intended to reflect the new content concept: "Editor-in-chief Werner de Schepper wants to differentiate more, make a more open paper, moralize less - and yet not lose the bite," says Rohr, adding that perhaps we will soon see Blick with completely different eyes.
