Free newspaper Ticino Oggi has ceased publication with immediate effect after just 222 issues, with the Board of Directors of the free newspaper citing the scandal surrounding the director of the Ticino free newspaper, Lega national councillor Flavio Maspoli. He had forged signatures for a referendum. Ticino Oggi was financed by Thermoselect patron Günter Kiss. He used the newspaper as a platform for his company, which is trying to build a waste incineration plant in Ticino.
