The first-time measurement proved effective: in the second half of the year, only three spots exceeded the limit of 82 decibels. "Leq 82 db" is the result of a gentleman's agreement between all parties involved. The initiative is intended to prevent strong sound fluctuations in the commercial break. Thanks to high acceptance in the market, the measurement will be continued until further notice, writes Cinecom. In future, commercials that are too loud will be returned and customers will be asked to deliver new copies at the correct volume.
