According to Chairman of the Board of Directors Adrian Bauder, however, the loss of "a total of just 2.5 jobs" is by no means the beginning of the end. On the contrary, the company is getting ready for the relaunch of the Zuger Presse, which is scheduled for the end of May.
In order to increase its reach, Landis&Gyr heir Daniel Brunner's paper is to be published more frequently than just twice a week in future. After a loss of 3.2 million francs in 2002, the paper also posted a "significant loss" last year, Bauder admits. However, the fact that Brunner's four-year deficit guarantee expires at the end of the year only means that he no longer wants to keep the Zug press afloat on his own.
