The longest copy in the world

Advertising: DDB London hopes to earn a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for its ad promoting The Guardian's sponsorship of the Hay Literary Festival.

Advertising DDB London is hoping its ad for the Guardian's sponsorship of the Hay Literary Festival will earn it an entry in the Guinness Book of Records. 3757 words to be exact, the ad is said to be the longest copy ever published, according to the British industry medium Brand Republic. Ian Forth, the name of the agency planner and author, has rolled out the advertising text entitled "I like to read" over five columns. This puts even the linguistic power of Swiss advertisers in the shade; the biggest Swisspool wasteland "only" extends over 2,400 words.
