Down-under jazz?

Festivals The 17th Open-air Jazz Parade will take place in Fribourg from July 1 to 16, and thanks to the high quality of the local musicians and top international acts such as the Phil Woods Quintet or this year's Mory Kante and Arturo Sandoval, the free event has become a firm fixture in the Swiss jazz year. The Burson-Marsteller agency has now created an eye-catching and confusing advertisement for sponsor La Liberté: a seven-piece jazz combo made up of kangaroos. CD René Walker admits with a grin that he was not alluding to an Australian band, but merely reviving the forgotten advertising figure of Liberté. The only thing missing to break the attendance record of 200,000 is the sun from Down Under.
