The creative agency Aroma is sharpening its profile in the field of physical brand experiences: With the establishment of the Aroma Tec Lab within the Fabrication & Engineering unit, the company is bringing its analog and digital technology expertise together under one roof, while directly integrating its own production capabilities and infrastructure. According to Aroma, the goal is to strengthen its long-standing expertise at the intersection of people, space, and technology and to create the framework for implementing complex, interactive client solutions.

The Tec Lab: Shaping the Future

According to the press release, the Tec Lab is being created as a creative and technological space where the boundaries between the digital and analog worlds are set to blur. The goal is to shape interactions between people and brands through the targeted use of state-of-the-art technologies. The “lab” concept is central to this approach, as every project is unique and requires an innovative process as well as a constant exploration of new paths.

Interdisciplinary expertise under one roof

Roger Wiedemeier, Unit Director of Fabrication & Engineering, will head the Aroma Tec Lab. The lab’s day-to-day operations are supported by an interdisciplinary core team that brings together the fields of hardware and software. Drawing on its combined expertise in interactive technologies, artificial intelligence, and digital storytelling—represented by Alexander Naumer, Senior Creative Technologist—as well as in product design, kinetics, and physical interfaces—represented by Ralph Jordi, Senior Product Designer—the lab aims to become the go-to resource for injecting new energy into brand experiences.

This creates a symbiosis of technology and production: The project is carried out at Aroma, drawing on the agency’s in-house expertise and the interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge within the agency.

The intersection of technology, creativity, and production

The Tec Lab focuses on systems that combine digital controls, displays, artificial intelligence, and physical interaction. From initial prototypes to final implementation, the entire process takes place at Aroma, supported by production capabilities such as 3D printing, laser machining, and large-format printing. According to the press release, the user experience is always the top priority. Through this combination of technological advancement and creative vision, Aroma aims to open up new avenues of interaction that deeply influence the brand experience.
