Seed economiesuisse: A Film Based on Trade Data Since 1921

Switzerland’s close economic ties with the rest of the world are considered key to the country’s prosperity. This was the focus of the 2026 Economy Day, organized last Friday in Lucerne by the business umbrella organization economiesuisse under the theme «Switzerland in the World.» Approximately 450 representatives from the business community, politics, and civil society attended the event. Seed economiesuisse was responsible for the event’s opening: The Zurich-based communications specialist, which specializes in film, created and produced the opening film.

Real Numbers as a Visual Story

This animated film uses a minimalist style to tell the story of how the Swiss economy has become increasingly interconnected with the rest of the world over time. It is based on the Swiss government’s official import and export figures dating back to 1921. These data were used to create a visual narrative that traces the historical evolution of Switzerland’s trade relations.
