Vaudeville illustrates «The Swiss Soap Edition»
The Zurich-based creative studio Vaudeville has developed a unique illustrative universe for the newly launched «Swiss Soap Edition» from Kosho Cosmetics—inspired by Swiss poster art from the 1930s to the 1950s and created entirely without the use of artificial intelligence.

Swiss poster art as inspiration for «The Swiss Soap Edition»
With its newly launched «The Swiss Soap Edition,» Kosho Cosmetics combines sustainable natural cosmetics with contemporary design. The Zurich-based creative studio Vaudeville developed a unique illustrative universe for the collection, centered around four Swiss themes. The inspiration came in particular from Swiss poster art of the 1930s through the 1950s, whose illustrative clarity and minimalist style continue to influence the international scene to this day.

The illustrations were created deliberately and entirely without the use of artificial intelligence. Instead, Vaudeville relied on traditional illustration techniques and a clearly controlled analog creative process. According to those responsible, the advantages of this approach lie in complete stylistic control, legal certainty, and maximum flexibility: All designs are broken down into layers so that they can be adapted for use across all cross-media channels.
Craftsmanship Over Algorithms: The Analog Creative Process
The journey from the initial sketch to the final illustration reflects the studio’s commitment to craftsmanship. The sketches were developed step by step—from rough drafts to fully realized illustrations. This approach allows for precise control over every stage of the design process and ensures that the designs work effectively on packaging as well as in both digital and analog media.

The four completed designs feature iconic Swiss locations and motifs: Switzerland (Matterhorn), Zurich, Lucerne, and Chablais. Each motif combines regional identity with a minimalist, timeless visual language.
«The Swiss Soap Edition»: 100 percent natural, 100 percent Swiss-made
«The Swiss Soap Edition» embodies a consistent approach not only in terms of design but also in terms of product quality. The natural cosmetics are manufactured entirely in Switzerland and, according to the company, consist of 100 percent natural ingredients. The press release states that all bottles are recyclable and designed as a refill system.

The combination of Swiss design tradition and a sustainable product concept is intended to give the brand a unique position in the natural cosmetics market. Vaudeville, founded in 2009 by Martin Brunner and Roger Zürcher and still owner-managed today, brings its expertise in animation, motion design, and illustration to the project.
