Quakkomm Awards Diplomas to Its First Proofreaders in Central Switzerland
The Quakkomm School of Communication has awarded the graduates of its Proofreading and Editing course a diploma for the first part of the program.

Quakkomm Proofreader Training: First Milestone Reached
The Quakkomm School of Communication in Central Switzerland has reached an important milestone: As part of its Quakkomm Proofreading and Editing Training Program, the graduates of the current Proofreading and Editing course received their first diplomas last Saturday. All participants successfully passed the diploma exam—after 176 lessons of intensive preparation.
«The class worked toward this exam over the course of 176 lessons. We’re all the more delighted that everyone passed and that we can now move on together to the second part of the course,» says Jasmin Huwyler, principal of Quakkomm.

Two-stage structure – unique in Switzerland
The program is divided into two parts: The first focuses on proofreading and concludes with a diploma exam. The second part focuses on editing and concludes with a thesis. This program, which leads to the award of two diplomas, is reportedly unique in Switzerland and, according to the program’s organizers, enables even those without specific prior experience to enter the profession.

A versatile second part of the Quakkomm Proofreader Training Program
In the second part of the course, participants receive training over an additional 20 school days—and not just in proofreading. «We also teach students subjects such as marketing, law, and starting a business,» explains Dominique Riedweg, director of Quakkomm. «This comprehensive package ideally prepares course participants for their professional future.»

The next course begins in 2027
The current course runs through February 2027. The next session begins in August 2027. Those interested can register now.
