Ellese Caruana assumed the role of PR & Communications Manager at Microsoft Switzerland effective June 1, 2026. In this role, she reports to Michael Isaac, Head of PR & Communications at Microsoft Switzerland & Austria, and is responsible for external and internal communications as well as thought leadership positioning in Switzerland.

From Clariant to Microsoft: Ellese Caruana, a Communications Professional with a Broad Background

Caruana is moving from Clariant to Microsoft, where she most recently served as Media Relations and Social Media Manager. According to her, she has more than ten years of experience in strategic communications in international and highly regulated environments—with a focus on media relations, executive positioning, and integrated storytelling. Early in her career, she worked as a journalist and radio reporter. She earned her bachelor’s degree in philosophy with a concentration in marketing from University College London.

Ellese Caruana, Microsoft: Strengthening the Regional Communications Team

With Caruana’s arrival, the communications team at Microsoft Switzerland now consists of three people: Ellese Caruana as PR & Communications Manager for Switzerland, Johannes Prüller as PR & Communications Manager for Austria & Switzerland, and Michael Isaac as Head of PR & Communications for Microsoft Switzerland & Austria. Together, they aim to further strengthen Microsoft’s positioning and engagement in the region.

Michael Isaac commented on the new hire as follows: «Her strong media expertise, strategic thinking, and storytelling skills will be crucial in further raising Microsoft’s profile in Switzerland and supporting our customers and partners in the age of AI.»
