Sanitas Health Forecast Magazine: Relaunch with dear creative
Sanitas and the creative agency dear creative have redesigned the customer magazine from the ground up. The «Sanitas Health Forecast Magazine» is published three times a year with a total circulation of approximately 570,000 copies and positions itself as a high-quality health and lifestyle magazine.

Sanitas Health Forecast Magazine: Designed for newsstands rather than as a customer newsletter
Sanitas and the creative agency dear creative have completely redesigned the health insurer’s existing customer magazine. The newly launched Sanitas Health Forecast Magazine It is published three times a year in German, French, and Italian, with a total circulation of approximately 570,000 copies. The goal of the relaunch is to move away from the traditional customer magazine format and toward a high-quality, newsstand-ready magazine about the future of health—one that offers tangible added value for readers.
The new format is an integral part of the existing Sanitas Health Forecast universe and combines journalistic quality with scientifically sound content. The first issue was published on May 7.
A New Perspective on Health—Inspiring, Relevant, and Accessible
In terms of content, the magazine is consistently aligned with the thematic focus of the Sanitas Health Forecast. It centers on issues related to health, prevention, mental resilience, genetics, longevity, as well as societal developments and new perspectives on health. Among other topics, the first issue explores the extent to which a person’s health is shaped even before birth—by genes, family history, and early environmental factors.
Stunning photo essays, in-depth features, interviews, infographics, and new dialogue formats are designed to create more space for inspiration, reflection, and storytelling. According to the magazine, its aim is not to be didactic, but rather to provide guidance and bring readers closer to the topic of health.

Print as a Counterbalance to AI and Information Overload
The relaunch is also intended as a deliberate commitment to the relevance of high-quality print formats. «Especially in an age of information overload and so-called »zero-click« experiences, strong editorial formats that demonstrate a clear stance, depth, and high design quality are regaining importance,» says Kaspar Trachsel, CMO at Sanitas. “The new magazine is meant to inspire, provide guidance, and bring people closer to the topic of health—not in a didactic way, but in a relevant and human way.”
While digital content is becoming increasingly ephemeral and AI-generated information is shaping everyday life, this new format focuses on curated quality, visual impact, and journalistic credibility.

A New Design Direction with Sanitas Health Forecast Magazine
The magazine has also undergone a fundamental redesign. The existing typography will be retained but used in a more flexible and magazine-like manner. Moving forward, the visual language, illustrations, and graphic elements will be more closely aligned with the visual style of the Sanitas Health Forecast book, so that both publications are perceived as part of a cohesive whole.
Particularly striking is the use of just two consistent illustration styles. According to the press release, the work of renowned illustrator Andreas Samuelsson creates a design bridge between the magazine and the book. The new design is complemented by modern design elements, expert features, and more spacious layouts.

A well-established content ecosystem
The new magazine is part of a comprehensive health ecosystem that dear creative has been continuously developing in collaboration with Sanitas for several years. This includes the annual Sanitas Health Forecast, a publication of more than 400 pages; the representative Sanitas Health Forecast study, which surveys 5,000 respondents each time; the biweekly Sanitas Health Forecast podcast; and a growing YouTube channel with more than 120 videos. The ecosystem is complemented by digital self-tests, interactive health formats, and online and social media content.
With the relaunch of the magazine, the goal is to systematically expand this ecosystem and make it more interconnected.
