The Swiss company deliver.media and its American partner MusicMaster won Radio World’s «Best of Show» award at the 2026 NAB Show in Las Vegas. The award was given to musiccompanion. for its new «Molecules» concept—an approach that combines AI in radio with editorial oversight. For Michael Buholzer, CEO and co-founder of deliver.media, it was a special moment: «This was my 20th NAB Show, and it’s the first award we’ve taken home. We’re thrilled.»

Molecules: AI on the Radio with Human Responsibility

The award is based on a clear stance: Especially now, when artificial intelligence is generating content everywhere, radio remains one of the most important and trustworthy sources. The question is how broadcasters can use AI as a tool without losing control, expertise, and quality.

That’s exactly where musiccompanion. comes in. Instead of publishing AI-generated text without verification, the solution breaks down information from trusted sources into small, verifiable units—known as “Molecules.” Each “Molecule” contains a single fact about a song, an album, or an artist. The music editorial team verifies the “Molecule” with a single click before it is processed further. The source and history are stored.

This results in reliable metadata that not only streamlines music planning in MusicMaster but also feeds into Showprep and Voice Tracks. «The editorial team decides which sources to trust and which facts to air,» explains Buholzer. «We combine the speed of AI with the responsibility of professionals. That’s the difference.»

Show Prep, Voice Tracks, and Full Integration

musiccompanion. reads the scheduled broadcast sequence directly from MusicMaster, recognizes the songs’ attributes, and uses this information to generate appropriate on-air scripts. Voice track scripts are created with or without song facts, based on mood, and include station claims, weather, and traffic updates. Upon request, the solution can also directly produce the finished audio with the desired announcer’s voice and send it to any standard playout system.

Broadcasters can freely choose their AI model from the package. OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and other models are included, as are leading voice models such as ElevenLabs. No separate licensing is required.

Recognition from the U.S. for AI in Radio

MusicMaster founder Joe Knapp commented on the award immediately after the ceremony: «We won Best of Show with musiccompanion. musiccompanion does a lot more than just music. It uses human-curated AI for show preparation and AI voice tracking, and we worked really hard on it.»
