A look back at number 1: Switzerland's biggest daily newspaper
Der Blick has regained the top spot in the Swiss readership market. With 300,000 readers per issue, the newspaper is once again the most widely read daily in the country.

With an increase of 24,000 readers per issue compared to the survey a year ago, Blick is once again the most widely read daily newspaper in the country. This is confirmed by the latest figures from the Mach Basic Study 2026-1, published by Wemf für Werbemarktforschung. A total of 300,000 people now read Blick every day.
This corresponds to an increase of 7.7% compared to the last survey (Mach Basic 2025-2). Compared to the previous year, the increase is even 8.7%. Readership is developing particularly well: Blick is also making gains among female readers and in the advertising-relevant target group of 35 to 54-year-olds. In addition, the audience is spending more time with the content - the reading time and reading volume have also increased.
Broad mix of topics convinces audience
The good figures are the result of a close relationship with the audience and further development of the content. It is no coincidence that Blick is particularly popular with female readers: the editorial team impresses with a broad mix of topics ranging from exclusive news and approachable stories to real-life usefulness. The brand is brought to life beyond just reading, for example through exclusive events, direct dialog or the personal involvement of the loyal readership.
«You don't become the biggest newspaper in Switzerland by being average. But with speed, plain language and the courage to go where it gets uncomfortable. That's exactly what our readers expect - and that's exactly what we try to deliver every day,» says Blick editor-in-chief Rolf Cavalli.
Ladina Heimgartner, CEO Ringier Media Switzerland, adds: «Blick is more relevant than ever as Switzerland's biggest daily newspaper. The strong growth is a direct recognition by readers of our content and our efforts to be close to the people of Switzerland and get to the heart of what moves them.»
Blick is a Swiss media brand that gets to the heart of what matters in Switzerland. In Switzerland's largest newsroom, journalists work around the clock to thoroughly process complex issues and present them in an easily understandable way. Through the app, website, digital TV, newspaper, social media, podcast and newsletter, their research is consumed by more than 1.4 million people in German- and French-speaking Switzerland every day.
