Ringier Media Switzerland takes over AdUnit from TX Group

Ringier Medien Schweiz will acquire AdUnit from the Goldbach Group (TX Group) effective March 1, 2026. The software solution for digital ad bookings will be integrated into Ringier Advertising and is intended to make it easier for SMEs in particular to access high-quality Swiss advertising environments. As a result of the transaction, eleven employees will transfer to Ringier.

Ringier Media Switzerland (RMS) is taking over AdUnit, previously a subsidiary of the Goldbach Group, which belongs to the TX Group, as of March 1, 2026. The AdUnit software solution for agencies, publishers, distribution networks and SMEs will be integrated into Ringier Advertising - the marketing unit of RMS headed by Thomas Passen. The transaction will see a total of eleven employees transfer from AdUnit to Ringier Advertising.

The acquisition is a strategic step in the expansion of regional and digital advertising marketing at Ringier. The AdUnit platform facilitates access to Swiss quality advertising environments and will make booking digital advertising even easier and more intuitive in future, particularly for SMEs.

Growth strategy consistently pursued

"Ringier Media Switzerland and Ringier Advertising were successful together with their advertising clients in 2025. This growth is based on strong journalistic brands, high credibility among readers and a shared view of the expansion of classic and innovative advertising products," explains Ladina Heimgartner, CEO of Ringier Media Switzerland. "We want to leverage our strengths and grow successively in line with our strategy. The inclusion of AdUnit in our RMS family is a further step in this direction."

Thomas Passen, Managing Director of Ringier Advertising, emphasizes the strategic importance: "AdUnit complements this strategy with proven technology, operational know-how and an established customer base. The platform makes it possible to play out regional advertising efficiently, scalably and in a brand-safe manner. At the same time, it can be specifically linked to existing RMS initiatives, such as digital out-of-home solutions like Livesystems. The aim is to achieve advertising impact where it is relevant for customers: local, precise and integrated."

Continuity for customers

For existing AdUnit customers, everything will remain the same. Contact persons, service and ongoing campaigns will not change. From March 1, 2026, the team and technology will be united under the umbrella of RMS and integrated into Ringier Advertising - from the booking tool to the inventory. Development, operation and further development will take place in Switzerland.

AdUnit Booking Tool as a one-stop store

The AdUnit Booking Tool acts as a one-stop store for advertisers and agencies in self-booking or as a managed service. It offers access to the entire RMS inventory as well as relevant external digital channels such as YouTube, TikTok, Meta and LinkedIn. The offering is supplemented by DOOH, audio and CTV.

A standardized user interface simplifies booking and speeds up processes. Fully automated reporting, cross-channel billing - "one campaign, one invoice" - and a multi-DSP strategy significantly reduce administrative effort and increase efficiency on the customer and marketer side.

With the takeover of AdUnit, RMS is sending out a clear signal: for integration, for regional strength in the digital advertising market and for the targeted expansion of its own value creation along the entire marketing chain.
