SWA Director Roland Ehrler to retire at the end of 2026
Roland Ehrler, the long-standing director of the Swiss Advertisers Association (SWA), will be stepping down from operational business at his own request at the end of 2026 and taking early retirement. The search for a successor is therefore already underway.
The SWA is looking for a successor to the current Director with immediate effect. From spring 2026, the successor will initially act as Co-Director and later assume overall responsibility. With the early appointment of a successor, the SWA will thus operate with a dual leadership until the end of 2026. During their time together, the successor will be introduced to all of the association's areas of responsibility and introduce themselves to members and partners in the Swiss advertising and media market. After his departure, Roland Ehrler will continue to manage a few selected mandates on behalf of the association.
Even if it is still far too early to take stock today, the Board and the President of the SWA, Jan De Schepper (Yuh / Swissquote Bank), would like to thank the long-standing Director for his enormous commitment. The association's press release states: "Roland Ehrler has not only put his heart and soul into representing the interests of advertising clients since November 2012, but has also become the strong voice of the SWA. His greatest successes include making the activities program more attractive with events, workshops and webinars, expanding it to six expert groups today and the more than 30 value-added partnerships and association services for today's 218 members. Under his management, the small SWA team - in close cooperation with the President and the Executive Board - has achieved great things and the association is very well positioned in the advertising market after 75 years."
