EHC Biel opens season with animated intro show by Sayhey

The EHC Biel is kicking off the new hockey season with an emotional multimedia presentation: The Biel-based creative agency Sayhey, in collaboration with the Zurich-based animation studio Cloudscape, has developed a new intro show that tells the club’s history in a spectacular way.

When the lights go out in the Tissot Arena, the ice is transformed into a screen for a 2.5-minute journey through time - from the club's beginnings to the present day. Historical footage and animated sequences merge to create a cinematic experience that, according to the agency, is intended to bridge the gap between nostalgia and anticipation.

"Our aim was to immerse fans in a world of fantasy and history," says Svenja Tschannen, Creative Director of Sayhey. "Animation and reality merge to create an experience that combines history and goosebumps."

The format was a creative challenge for the agency. "We normally produce commercials that are 10 to 30 seconds long," explains Managing Director Jason Schoch. "The longer dramaturgy allowed us to build up the suspense over several minutes and make the moment before the first puck a real highlight."

Sayhey and EHC Biel have been working together since 2021, and this is the third time the agency has been responsible for the intro show - a project that has become an integral part of the club's identity over the years.

The film can be seen exclusively in the Tissot Arena and

will remain part of the match days until the end of the season. With the new production, the club and agency are underlining their joint signature: emotional storytelling, strong images and a clear sense of atmosphere.
