Black Frame: The spirit of the ZFF in a nutshell
This year, the Zurich-based video agency served as the official video partner of the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) for the first time—and delivered real-time content that captured the spirit of the festival in all its facets. Between the Green Carpet, award ceremonies, and side events, the team succeeded in capturing the emotions, atmosphere, and highlights in both video and audio.
A challenge: while Hollywood stars are walking the green carpet in one place, a ZFF Masters talk is taking place a few minutes away and a Golden Eye is being presented shortly afterwards. "The challenge is to be present everywhere and at the same time deliver content that meets international standards," explains Mola.
Content with proximity and emotion
The team's tasks went far beyond pure event documentation. Black Frame accompanied stars and filmmakers, portrayed the audience and staged emotional festival moments - from the big galas to the quiet nuances. The aim was to create closeness and make the festival spirit a digital experience.
"Our camera is not a barrier, but a bridge," says Mola. "We want to make the energy that characterizes this festival tangible."
Between planning and spontaneity
Behind the success is a precise organization. Who is where and when? Which camera covers which event? Which content has to be published in which order? But despite meticulous planning, the ZFF remains a lively, unpredictable event. Spontaneous interviews, extended award ceremonies and last-minute changes are part of everyday life. "It's precisely these moments that make the festival so magical," says Mola.
Festival praises collaboration
The ZFF is also impressed. "We appreciate the agility of the team and the output that does justice to our festival," says Alessandro Monsurrò, Managing Director of the Zurich Film Festival.
