Home World Championships live on SRG: Crans-Montana 2027 exclusively on free TV

SRG has secured the exclusive rights to the Alpine Ski World Championships in 2027 in Crans-Montana and in 2029 in Narvik, Norway. This means that the home World Championships will be available free-to-air for all language regions of Switzerland—on the channels and platforms of SRF, RTS, RSI, and RTR.

As host broadcaster, SRG will also be responsible for the international signal production of the home World Cup, thus making a significant contribution to the global media presence of the major event. "I am delighted that we are able to show the home World Cup live to the sports-interested public on free TV, which has a wide reach, and this is in line with the core concept of public service," says Roland Mägerle, Head of SRF Sport and Business Unit Sport SRG.

The agreement with the International Ski Federation (FIS) covers not only the upcoming Alpine World Championships, but also other snow sports title competitions up to 2029 - including the Nordic World Ski Championships, snowboard, freestyle and freeski world championships. The 2027 World Championships in Montafon, Austria, will also be shown live on the SRG platforms.

With this agreement, SRG wants to strengthen its role as a reliable media partner for Swiss snow sports and secure access to the biggest winter events - without a paywall, for all regions and languages.
