Shaping the future with science: NZZ launches "NZZ Quantensprung"
The NZZ is launching «NZZ Quantensprung,» a multimedia offering consisting of a podcast, a newsletter, and live formats. The new format is dedicated to the research that is shaping our world.

In nature, a quantum leap is small - and yet it changes everything. Research has a similar effect: it produces findings that change our lives and our future. "NZZ Quantum Leap" shows how ideas from science can drive forward solutions to the problems of our time.
From September 26, the NZZ science department will be exploring an exciting idea from the fields of medicine, biology, physics or technology every Friday. Podcast host Lena Waltle leads the 30-minute episodes and discusses them with her colleagues in the department, scientists, entrepreneurs and other experts. She examines which questions are still unanswered, what hurdles exist and how realistic the next step is.
The podcast is accompanied by a weekly newsletter that provides the most important information on the topic at a glance and offers further research from the science department. Live formats will follow in the coming year, creating space for dialog and debate.
"Many people are looking for guidance and want to understand what scientific progress means for our future - and can contribute to solving our problems. This is exactly what 'NZZ Quantensprung' conveys - well-founded, courageously conceived and free of ideology," says Christiane Hanna Henkel, Head of the Science and Technology Department at NZZ.
The new podcast and newsletter will be published weekly on Fridays. The first episode is now available free of charge on nzz.ch, in the NZZ app and all popular podcast apps.
