TeleBärn and Radio Bern1 go to the Gassmann Groupe
CH Media is selling TeleBärn and Radio Bern1 to the Gassmann Groupe. The employees who work for the stations will be retained.
CH Media is consistently focusing its regional journalism portfolio on the core markets of north-western Switzerland, eastern Switzerland, central Switzerland and the greater Zurich area. As part of this focus, AZ Medien and CH Media are selling the two stations TeleBärn and RADIO BERN1, which are strongly anchored in the Bern region, to the Gassmann Groupe. CH Media is convinced that the new owners, who are well established in the Bern region, will lead the stations successfully into the future. 53 employees working for the stations will be taken over by the Gassmann Groupe.CH Media expands service business
At the same time, CH Media remains an important partner for the Bernese regional broadcasters. Technical services will continue to be provided for TeleBärn. In addition, CH Media will continue to supply TeleBärn with proven formats. Supra-regional programs such as "SonnTalk", "SwissDinner" and others will remain in the program and continue as usual. On the radio, CH Media will provide national and international news. With this collaboration, CH Media is further expanding its service business in the areas of technology and content delivery.

With the sale of TeleBärn, the license for the Bern coverage area will also be transferred to the Gassmann Groupe. For this reason, the takeover must be examined and approved by the responsible Federal Office of Communications. Completion is planned for the first quarter of 2026. The takeover will take place retroactively to 1.1.2026. The license for TeleBärn runs until 2034.
