When the atmosphere in St.Gallen changes noticeably in two weeks' time, becoming livelier and more colorful, then it's time again: OLMA opens its doors. The 82nd Swiss Trade Fair for Agriculture and Food promises to be a feast for all the senses from October 9 to 19 under the motto "Gnüsse a de OLMA".
"OLMA shows that live experiences are more important today than ever - because people are looking for closeness, exchange and inspiration," emphasizes Christine Bolt, CEO of Olma Messen St.Gallen. These eleven days create a unique state of emergency in the eastern Swiss metropolis.
This year's edition is characterized by forward-looking special shows: The OST - Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences demonstrates the use of AI in everyday life in Hall 2.0 under the title "Where Artificial Intelligence works". To mark the 50th anniversary of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation, visitors can experience new perspectives on an interactive wheelchair circuit. The art exhibition "open art museum meets OLMA" transforms Hall 9.0 into a creative meeting zone.
Culinary innovation meets tradition: in the "Battle of TASTE", over 100 restaurants from Eastern Switzerland compete for the favor of visitors. The new Startup Square in Hall 9.1A brings fresh entrepreneurial spirit to the trade fair with 14 young companies.
The appearance of the guest canton of Valais promises to be a special highlight. Under the motto "WOW WOW WALLIS", the canton presents itself with over 100 animals, including the characteristic Hérens cows and black-nosed sheep. The traditional parade through the center of St.Gallen on October 11 will be a major event with 700 participants.
The olmaPLAZA is establishing itself as a central meeting point between the exhibition grounds and the Autumn Fair, where the OLMA day flows seamlessly into the evening. The organizers recommend arriving by public transport - last year, over 70 percent of visitors used this environmentally friendly option.
With over 300,000 visitors expected and more than 600 exhibitors, OLMA will once again underline its position as the most important public exhibition in Switzerland in 2025. Tickets are available from the OLMA ticket store and Ticketcorner.
