Swiss Comedy Awards live on Swiss1 from 2026
The «Swiss Comedy Awards» are getting a new media home: Starting next year, the Swiss private broadcaster Swiss1, in collaboration with HausKrieg, will host the most prestigious awards ceremony in the Swiss comedy industry. The live broadcast will take place in the fall of 2026.

The most important platform for Swiss comedy is getting a new TV boost. Swiss1 will broadcast the Swiss Comedy Awards live from fall 2026. This step will not only preserve this important award ceremony, but also give it fresh impetus. Every year, the awards honor the country's best comedians for their creativity and performance, thus sending a strong signal for the Swiss comedy scene.
"Swiss1 stands for Swissness and first-class entertainment," says Managing Director Daniela Zwahlen. "Hosting the Swiss Comedy Awards is an important step in our in-house production strategy and offers scope for innovative storytelling and exciting collaborations. In this way, we are creating an entertaining television experience for our audience and an attractive environment for advertising clients."
The broadcast on Swiss1 has met with a positive response from the comedians. Stand-up comedian Charles Nguela emphasizes: "Humor is scientifically proven to be healthy and therefore indispensable for our society. For us artists, it is crucial that our work reaches a wide audience. That's exactly why we need the Swiss Comedy Awards."
Lorenz Hauser, Artistic Director of HausKrieg, is also delighted: "We are happy to have found a new partner in Swiss1 to continue celebrating Swiss comedy in the future. The award is the springboard for up-and-coming talents and established greats in the Swiss comedy scene. The award creates media attention and offers newcomers an important platform."
The Swiss Comedy Awards were launched in 1999 and have since established themselves as the most important award in the Swiss humor industry. Since 2017, the organization has been in the hands of the Zurich-based association HausKrieg, whose founders Lorenz Hauser and Rik Krieger brought the successful Quatsch Comedy Club from Berlin to Switzerland for the first time. This gave rise to STAND UP!, the country's biggest and most successful mixed comedy show to date.
