Last but not least: Ryanair puts advertising right in front of passengers' noses

In the future, Ryanair passengers won't just be courted through traditional channels. Soon, ads will also be shining at them from the backs of the seats.

In future, Ryanair passengers will not only be courted in the normal way. Soon they will also see advertisements on the back of their seats. As the news agency SDA reported on Wednesday, the advertising is intended to further reduce Ryanair's flight prices. However, it remains to be seen whether the advertising message will burn itself into the minds of passengers as intended or whether it is too much of a good thing. The Zurich-based marketing agency InviseoMedia, which has signed a five-year contract with the Irish company, is responsible for the measure. The airline wants to increase its passenger numbers from 42 to 70 million per year by 2012.
