Südostschweiz complete edition extends reach to over a quarter of a million readers
Starting in 2026, the «Südostschweiz Gesamtausgabe» will be expanded to include the «Rheintaler» and the «Rheintalische Volkszeitung.» This will increase the readership to over 256,000 people in the total circulation, while the regular circulation will rise to 69,122 copies.

The "Südostschweiz Gesamtausgabe" is further expanding its position in the print market. From January 1, 2026, the "Rheintaler" and the "Rheintalische Volkszeitung" from Galledia Regionalmedien AG will strengthen the newspaper network. This expansion will increase the regular circulation from 59,875 copies today to 69,122 copies. In the large-circulation segment, the medium recorded an even more significant increase of 35,802 copies to a new total of 186,706 copies.
For the advertising market, this development means a significant increase in reach: readership will grow by 28,000 to 176,000 people. Südostschweiz's large circulation will reach over a quarter of a million people in future.
In future, the expanded "Südostschweiz Gesamtausgabe" will cover an even larger, economically coherent area - from the cantons of Graubünden and Glarus via the St. Gallen Rhine Valley to Ausserschwyz and the Linth region as far as Rapperswil-Jona. "The addition of the 'Rheintaler' and the 'Rheintalische Volkszeitung' makes the Südostschweiz Gesamtausgabe even more relevant in the advertising market. We are creating a platform that combines reach, regional roots and economic clout in eastern and south-eastern Switzerland," explains Thomas Kundert, CEO of Somedia.
From 2026, all ten newspaper titles of the "Südostschweiz Gesamtausgabe" will be printed centrally at Somedia Partner AG in Haag (SG). The marketer Somedia Promotion is developing new, attractive offers for the national and supra-regional advertising market that will make the expanded network even more interesting for regional and national customers.
