Galledia puts the regional in the front row

Local news first: Starting in January 2026, *Der Rheintaler* and the *Rheintalische Volkszeitung* will be sending a strong message in support of the region. Going forward, all news from the Rhine Valley will be prominently featured in the first section of the newspaper—with national and international reports appearing only in the second section.

The change in the sequence of bundles underlines the self-image of the publisher Galledia: daily journalistic coverage of exciting news from the region exclusively for the people of the Rhine Valley.

As part of the realignment, Galledia is also changing its partner for national content. From January 2026, this will no longer come from CH Media - as it has for decades - but from Keystone-SDA, Switzerland's national news agency founded in 1894. A new content concept was developed together with Keystone-SDA. From January, the news agency will provide daily reports, images and graphics on Eastern Switzerland, Switzerland and the world for the "Rheintaler" and the "Rheintalische Volkszeitung".

The main changes at a glance:

- Independence: "Der Rheintaler" and "Rheintalische Volkszeitung" will be produced as completely independent local newspapers from 2026.

- Local in the first bundle: In order to place local reporting even more prominently, the local section of the newspaper will be located in the first bundle in future. This underlines the importance of regional events and stories for our readership.

- New shell partner Keystone-SDA: For national and international news content, Galledia is now relying on its partnership with the Swiss news agency Keystone-SDA. This continues to guarantee comprehensive and high-quality reporting from Switzerland and around the world.

- New marketing partner SomediaThe marketing of national advertising will in future be carried out in conjunction with Somedia.

- New printing partner Sopag AG: In future, the newspapers will be produced in cooperation with Sopag AG, an experienced and efficient printing partner from the region.

Martin Oswald, Head of Galledia Regionalmedien, on this step: "We are creating a product that is even closer to our readers and focuses on the diverse stories of our region. The partnership with Keystone-SDA guarantees us continued high journalistic quality at an attractive price."

Galledia is looking forward to delighting readers with a modern and even more local newspaper from January 2026. The digital offering has always been geared purely towards the regional market and thus has a clear positioning in the Rhine Valley, including among younger target groups.
