Switzerland will host the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship for the first time since 2009. The official pre-sale for the major event, which will be held in Zurich and Fribourg from May 15 to 31, 2026, starts at 12 noon on September 8, 2025.

Sales start with day tickets, which cover two or three matches per day at one venue. Prices vary depending on the location and match pairing: while day tickets for two Group B matches in Fribourg are available from CHF 30 for a standing place, prices for match days with Swiss participation start at CHF 130 per seat in Zurich.

Ticketcorner CEO Oliver Niedermann is expecting huge demand: "The demand for tickets will be enormous," he says and recommends that all fans log on to ticketcorner.ch in good time and check their access data. To ensure fair access, there is a limit of four day tickets per person and match day.

The grouping for the tournament has already been determined:

Group A in Zurich:
USA, Switzerland, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Austria, Hungary, Great Britain

Group B in Fribourg:
Canada, Sweden, Czech Republic, Denmark, Slovakia, Norway, Slovenia, Italy

Individual tickets will go on sale in a second phase in February 2026. Hospitality packages can already be requested via Ticketcorner Prime or the official website 2026.iihfworlds.com.
