10 years of Travelnews: The travel industry celebrates in Zurich
About 100 guests from the Swiss travel and tourism industry celebrated the 10th anniversary of Travelnews, Switzerland's largest online news portal for travel and tourism.

The anniversary celebration at the Toro Bar in Zurich provided an opportunity to look back on an eventful decade and look ahead together. The four founders, supporters from the very beginning, current and former employees, prominent industry representatives and the management of majority shareholder Nau media AG were all present. Over Spanish specialties and in a relaxed atmosphere, the guests enjoyed an evening full of encounters, memories and confidence.
From start-up to indispensable voice
Travelnews was launched on August 20, 2015 with the aim of providing relevant news, reports, analyses and commentaries on a daily basis. Today, almost 30,000 articles later, the portal has grown into the leading platform for news, background information and trends from the travel and tourism industry in German-speaking Switzerland and beyond.

"Ten years full of change for the industry and our editorial team - we thank you for your loyalty and look forward to the next ten years," said co-founder and editor Gregor Waser during the live talk at the celebration.
Strong partnership with Nau
Travelnews has been strengthened since its acquisition by Nau media AG last year. Together, the two brands have built up the Travelnews network with the widest reach in Switzerland. Travelnews access figures are currently around 25 percent up on the previous year, and both teams also benefit from each other editorially.
With the common goal of further expanding the travel news offering in Switzerland, Travelnews and Nau will focus even more on innovation, digital strength and journalistic quality in the future. Vanessa Bay, co-founder and current Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, is bursting with energy when it comes to the future of the company: "My energy is just as high as it was on the first day - in fact, it's only just getting started."
