Swiss Orchestra expands national presence
The Swiss Orchestra, conducted by Lena-Lisa Wüstendörfer, is kicking off its seventh season with world-class soloists such as Emmanuel Pahud and Olga Scheps. With three new venues, the orchestra is underscoring its growing presence in Switzerland and continuing to focus on the country’s musical heritage.

Under the direction of Lena-Lisa Wüstendörfer, the Swiss Orchestra continues on its successful path as a nationally renowned orchestra. The new 2025/26 season marks another milestone in the development of the orchestra, which has dedicated itself to rediscovering forgotten works of Swiss classical and romantic music.
With the opening of the season on September 23, 2025 at the Stadttheater Olten, the orchestra is opening up three new venues in addition to the Vaduzer Saal and the LAC Lugano. The increasing demand confirms the growing interest in symphonic music from Switzerland.
Top-class soloists and exciting programs
The new season offers a varied program: Three tours will take the orchestra through Switzerland, accompanied by international greats such as flautist Emmanuel Pahud, pianist Olga Scheps, clarinettist Reto Bieri and soprano Jeanine De Bique.

The orchestra is particularly innovative in Andermatt, where it acts as resident orchestra. Here it ventures into new territory with the dialect singer Bligg and allows classical and pop music to enter into an exciting dialog. Other highlights include an exclusive opera gala, a family concert and a new interpretation of Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" in combination with contemporary folk music.
International cultural exchange in Beijing
The Swiss Orchestra will be making a special appearance in Beijing, where the Swiss Orchestra Soloists and the Chinese National Traditional Orchestra will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Swiss Embassy in China - a significant moment of cultural exchange between the two nations.
