BOSW 2025 is looking for the best Swiss apps
Best of Swiss Apps 2025 is now open. Interested parties can submit their app projects by September 8. Also featured are the Swico Startup Support Program and ti&m’s «hack an app» Award for children and teens.

The 2025 edition of Best of Swiss Apps features the following new developments and special awards:
The «Web Apps» category will now be part of "Technology"
In the «Technology» category, we evaluate the technical excellence of mobile applications and their backend systems. Among other things, we evaluate how high-performing, stable, and secure the solution is, how well it complies with platform guidelines, how resilient it is to network or system failures, and, in particular, how appropriate the choice of technology is in light of the project’s objectives.
The «Web Apps» category will now be called "Extended Interaction"
The „Extended Interaction“ category recognizes apps that stand out for their innovative and immersive user experiences by pushing the boundaries of traditional mobile interaction. Among other things, this category evaluates projects that utilize extended realities (mixed, augmented, and virtual reality) as well as smartphone apps that create novel forms of interaction and enhanced digital experiences through the creative use of sensors, camera functions, or other technological capabilities.
Swico Startup Support Program
Swico, the trade association for the ICT and online industries, supports newly founded companies in participating in Best of Swiss Apps. Three startups will have the opportunity to submit a project free of charge in up to two competition categories for the «Best of Swiss Apps» award—valued at 1,350 Swiss francs.
Startup projects participate in the competition on a regular basis and are evaluated by expert juries in their respective categories. Startups that have been registered in the commercial register as an AG or GmbH for less than five years are eligible to participate. Membership in Swico is not required. Interested startups can Apply here by Thursday, August 21, 2025.
«hack an app» Award
ti&m’s «hack an app» Award is back on board. For over ten years, ti&m has been inspiring children to get excited about IT through its «hack an app» youth IT program. During the four-day courses, they develop their own apps with the help of ti&m employees, immersing themselves in the fascinating world of technology in a fun and engaging way. To inspire even more children to get into IT, ti&m, together with Best of Swiss Apps, has launched the «hack an app» Award Launched. It recognizes the best app created by children between the ages of 11 and 14.
Award Night on November 6, 2025, at the Kongresshaus
This year, the awards ceremony will take place on November 6, 2025, at the Kongresshaus in Zurich. The «hack an app» Award and the «Best of Swiss Software» Award will also be presented.
